Towing my Promaster with my Sequoia TRD Pro

HARDCORE SEQUOIA USERS WHERE YOU AT? By hardcore I mean you do towing and all kinds of heavy duty work. I got a Sequoia TRD Pro and I know that the 3rd generation ones have a towing capacity of 9k+ lbs. which is a lot. But I just want to ask from those who have really had experience towing? I'm about to tow a Promaster at 4k something pounds and I know there's still much capacity left but I'm worried about the wear and tear if I do this? I am planning to make this a regular thing. What's the implications on the acceleration and handling for this one? What extra caution do I need to take?

Tried towing a 5,000lbs travel trailer 400 miles with my Sequoia using an Andersen WDH and Tuson sway control and I was impressed with the power compared to my old Silverado... The shorter wheelbase made it a bit less stable in crosswinds, requiring much slower speeds. Fuel economy while towing was better, but the smaller tank did mean similar fuel stops as the Tundra. The v6 engine brake wasnt as strong as the Tundra's, which took adjustment. I also had a trailer brake controller issue Im taking to the dealer..

Yeah, the 2023 TRD Pro I got is a beast for towing! I must say that i-force Max twin turbo really delivers!

But you're smart to be thinking long-term with the wear and tear. Doing that regularly puts extra stress on the drivetrain, especially the transmission and brakes.

With regular towing, you should expect a noticeable dip in acceleration. Handling would also feel heavier and less responsive, especially with strong crosswinds.

If this is unavoidable, a good distribution hitch is a must! You might also want to consider upgrading brake pads and adding transmission cooler. But yeah, basically 3rd gen can handle it!
