Sensor problem after hitch setup

Installed a bike rack onto the hitch recently, and now the rcta has gone silent. Could the accessory be throwing things off? Would like to hear if anyone's seen similar issues.

I'll take a closer look at the placement to see if the rack is indeed causing interference. Have you ever had to adjust accessories to restore sensor functionality? Any tips would be a big help!

For sure,ran into that problem with my friend's Sequoia as well. The rack is actually obstructing the corner sensors,which is why the RCTA gets disabled. Sometimes using a hitch extender or tweaking the rack's angle can clear up the sensors. If that doesn't work,turning off the RCTA while it's active is probably the easiest solution. Those sensors can be really finicky like that

You were all right, the bike rack was the culprit lol. It was blocking the rear radar sensors which caused the RCTA to go silent. After removing the rack, the system started working normally again. Looks like the sensors shut down when they're obstructed. I've since switched to a lower profile hitch rack that sits lower and clears the sensor zones. No issues so far.

Yes, your RCTA sensors are probably being blocked by the rack. extremely common. You can disable RCTA while it's on by plugging in a trailer wiring adapter or by toggling the trailer mode on certain cars. What do you drive?

Thanks for those extra tips. The fix was indeed changing to a lower profile hitch rack.
