This SUV is everything I wanted, power, comfort and tech all in one! The 2024 Toyota Sequoia Capstone packs that i-FORCE MAX 3.4L Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid, pushing an awesome 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. It's a huge leap from the old V8. Additionally, I'm achieving fuel economy of around 21 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway (for my 2WD), which is significantly more efficient than past models.

My Capstone's maximum towing capacity is rated at approximately 9,280 lbs, with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of around 7,375 lbs. At roughly 208 inches long and about 74.5 inches tall, it's a beast but still surprisingly garage-friendly for us. Anyone here pulling serious weight with theirs and care to share their experiences?

That sounds like a powerhouse, I'm so impressed by the torque and hybrid efficiency. I've towed about 8,000 lbs with mine, it is stable and smooth. What trailer setup are you using?

I'm curious, how does it handle on long grades or in crosswinds when towing near that 9,000 lb limit?

@last Jedi music to my ears, hearing how well it manages a heavy load. I have a 26' Airstream that I'm preparing to pull with a weight distribution hitch.

Impressive setup. A 26' Airstream is hefty, weight distribution will definitely help keep it stable. How's it feeling on ramps and curves so far?

I haven't done a full trip yet but I tried a short run with the Airstream last weekend. The Sequoia handled ramps well and didn't squat much, probably thanks to the weight distribution setup. Curves felt smooth, though I kept my speed down since I'm still getting used to towing something this long. I'm planning a longer tow through some hills in early September, so I'll know more about how it handles then. Have you noticed any sway control changes based on how you load your trailer front to back?
