Auto level headlights malfunction

When I first start the truck, the lights do their little sweep like they're supposed to, but once I hit the road, they don't always seem to adjust properly, sometimes the beam feels way too low, especially when I'm towing or have a heavier load in the back, and other times they're angled up more than they should be, everything else with the lighting system seems fine. so I dont know where this is coming from and haven't messed with the suspension or anything aftermarket that could be throwing off the sensors
a calibration procedure I'm missing? or could one of the sensors on the rear suspension be out of whack, I'm ruling gout potential "normal" behavior cos this doesn't feel normal

If I remember correctly, that feature became available in 2022, so technically it should still be under warranty, I think, so why not take it to the dealer to figure things out?

Had a similar issue with my '23 Sequoia after a few camping trips with the trailer. Dealer did a quick recalibration and it's been smooth since. Have a tech inspect if the sensor linkage is binding or misaligned before diving into recalibration.

When your headlights act up like that, do you think it's more likely a sensor issue on the rear suspension or a missed calibration step and how would you test before handing it to the dealer?

I was pulling a trailer to Big Bear with my 2022 Sequoia Platinum when something like that happened. The headlights were too low with weight in the back, then too high when empty. The sensor near the back axle was a little off because of dirt. I cleaned it and looked it over, but still had the dealer reset it to be sure. You might want to check that sensor before doing anything else.
