Is the back row and trunk of Sequoia really awful?

My mom is thinking about buying the 3rd​ gen sequoia, so I was looking for a review for her to watch

I've watched youtube videos and read articles that say the back row and trunk space is really cramped and useless.

I get that it might not be the best for kid seats with all those missing latch things, and she's thinking about going with an Atlas for now.

But if the Atlas wasn't an option, would the back of the Sequoia and that cargo shelf thing be okay to live with?

Depends on what you'd use it for more often. Spacewise, I would say it's far better than the Atlas.

I just traded a Tundra for a TRDPro Sequoia. I did it for 2 reasons. 1 I like a new vehicle every so often, but 2 for more interior floor space for my ailing puppy dog. It rides better than my truck, which was good as well. Back seat still has a lot of room to carry stuff and is not a problem for me. Also you can buy 3rd row seat delete kits if you don't need them.

yeah the third row and cargo space can be tight, especially for kid seats or a lot of gear. If you're not using the third row often, it could still work. The cargo shelf is not very big but its quite handy. If the Atlas isn't an option, it could be worth a shot for shorter trips, but it depends on how much space you actually need.

Agree with them on the third row and cargo space being tight but I know very few people reliant on the third row. You only usually use up to the second row unless you're a rental vehicle where people wanna max up the space. Sequoia is still winning.

The third row feels pretty cramped, and honestly, the cargo space leaves a lot to be desired, even with that extra shelf in there. Setting up car seats in the back can be a bit of a hassle, too. It works, but if you're someone who often needs to lug around both people and gear, you're definitley making some sacrifices

I totally agree. It works well, but you definitely have to give up some space and flexibiltiy
